Cesena Fan Perspective re Cesena and QPR
Interview Conduct/Report written by QPR Report's Interviewer Maudesfishnchips
Ddomenghini is a poster on ://www.ilcesena.net a loyal and true Cesena supporter.
Many thanks"Domenghini"
Can you give details on Cesena, your location, your stadium, a brief history?
Cesena is a small city of 100.000 inhabitants, but we live in Romagna our blessed region. We are very proud to be "romagnoli" ( inhabitants of Romagna). Romagna ( and Cesena, obviously) is always the most important of our thoughts. Our stadium is the Dino Manuzzi, 25.000 seats, a beautiful and modern stadium. Cesena has a very glorious history. We have often been in Serie A, our best result is the 6°place, and we have played the Uefa Cup in the 1976.
How long have you supported Cesena?
I support Cesena from when I was a child, and now I'm 42 years old.
Who are your biggest rivals?
Our rivals are: a) Bologna. We hate Bologna with the whole soul. It is not only for the football, it is very more important than football. The football is only one of the battlegrounds against Bologna. b) Rimini; c) Ravenna; d) Modena; e) Verona; f) Juventus-Milan-Inter-Roma.
Are you happy with your team and the way things are your team?
Yes, very happy. This time is all right.
Are Cesena supporters treated well by your owners?
Yes, in the last three years the new owners have won two championship.
Who are your best players, past and present?
For the past years Schachner, Amarildo, Silas, Rizzitelli, Bianchi, Rossi. Now, Mutu, Parolo, Giaccherini, Von Bergen, Antonioli.
How do you see your club performing this season?
In the middle of the placings. At least I hope.
What are your views on QPR, its players, its owners, how much do you know about us?
I don't know a lot of QPR. But when I was a child I knew them. I like english football. I know that the QPR fans are proud, and I respect them.
Have you any views on our Italian players, Pellicori, Alberti?
I don't remember well Alberti, I think he was a striker, but has been in Cesena in loan only some month.
Pellicori was a good striker, but without brain. He was outcast from the Cesena because, during a summer training in a mountain place, escaped from the hotel to go to have a good time a to drink ..."
Are you looking forward to playing QPR, are you going?
Yes, I hope is a beautiful night. The place is beautiful, but the stadium is small.
What do you think the score will be?
QPR is more trained, Cesena has started now. 2-1 for you.
"Domenghini".
By the way, the game will be broadcast on local italian tv Teleromagna and Smtvsanmarino ( in streaming). And on Sky in France, canal 520.
I hope is useful to you.
Ciao from Romagna and Cesena, and good luck for your next season.

Great QPR news on a Saturday! QPR have announced that Adel Taarabt will be remaining at QPR. Now how long this lasts remains to be seen. But given that according to Neil Warnock, none of the money would have gone to Neil Warnock, to stengthen the squad, it's great news for QPR and QPR Fans. [Update: In the statement, the club say that money from Taaarabt sale WOULD have been reinvested in the playing squad]
(Less laudable at least to this observer, are some of the other things said in the statement.)

A PLYMOUTH LOOK AT PLYMOUTH AND QPR: A QPR REPORT Q&A
- To inaugurate QPR Report's 2011-12 series of interviews with a Fan of our "Opposing" team: Aan interview with Plymouth's Ian Newell who runs Plymouth Fan Site, PASOTI (Plymouth Argyle Supporters on the Internet). Many thanks to Ian for doing this interview. Many QPR fans have a soft spot for Plymouth and wish them very well.
- To note - and Highlight - one rather significant change (improvement) in these QPR Report Interview in 2011-2012. These interviews are now being conducted by QPR Report's Maudefishnchips. Many many thanks to Maudefishnchips for agreeing to take on these interviews.
How long have you supported Plymouth?
44 years.
How long have you been involved with your Website? How did you get to your site?
Since its inception (1996). http://pasoti.co.uk/talk/
How do you get on with the other Plymouth fan sites: Are there any serious inter-board conflicts (as there certainly are between certain QPR boards!)?
Vital is fine, we have one called GoS which is regarded as the Plymouth Argyle bible. http://www.greensonscreen.co.uk/ There are no others of any note.
Who's Plymouth biggest Rival (or Rivals)?
Exeter City.
Are you happy with your team and how things are? - Can you explain/do you understand how things got to this point?
How long have you got? You can see what has happened and these are the darkest days of our club.
What do you think of the current - and previous- Owners? WHY are they involved? WHO ARE THEY?! What do you expect? Could they realistically have done more to boost your chances?
The previous owners took us into admin with £17m debts, they are despised by most Argyle fans. We have no new owner yet, but the one who is the preferred bidder, is not welcome by many, he is thought of as a Cornish Del Boy.
How do you think Plymouth treats its fans? Appreciates them? Listens to them? Screws them?
We've been screwed over big time, and we are still being screwed by the Admin process.
Who are you Dangermen/Most valued/most overrated/most underrated players?
Not relevant at this moment in time, it's not about football at this moment in time, our club is on the edge of a precipice.
Who would you say was the greatest Plymouth player that you yourself personally saw? (You can name more than one if it's that close!)
Mariner, there is no doubt. We bought him from Chorley and anyone who saw him on his debut ( a cold night against Rochdale) knew we were in the presence of greatness.
Your prediction for Plymouth this season?
Survival is all we care about.
How much did you rate Jamie Mackie/ Akos Buzsaky when at Plymouth?
I never rated Mackie, he's fast but ran down blind alleys, but others loved the lad. Akos was a big fan's favourite but many say that the club's trouble went downhill from the day we sold him. I was at Loftus road, sitting about 5 seats from the big hat, when he scored a cracker against QPR. It was a great goal.
What is your view and the general Plymouth view of QPR (If we even feature in your consciousness) or of Neil Warnock?
QPR are remembered with fondness at PAFC, you were classy in defeat when we won the Championship of the 3rd tier (unlike Luton 18 months before when we won the 4th tier CHampionship) Neil Warnock is a bit Marmitey down this part of the country, but he does love his football.
What are your past Encounter Memories - Best Memory/Worst Memory of Past QPR- Encounters? Who is your favourite QPR Player over the years?
3-0 at Loftus Road in the League Cup in the 70's. QPR equalising in (it seemed like) the 101st minute, when we were 2-0 up (first season in the Championship I think it was). Rodney Marsh and Stan the Man, were my two favourites by a country mile.
Are you looking forward to playing QPR?
No, not really, our staff are still owed about 5 months wages and some of us think it wrong for us to support PAFC until that is sorted (not all people think this way, but a lot do).
Score prediction for Plymouth -QPR?
3-3
Where, realistically, do you think Plymouth will be in five years time?
In the football league hopefully.
What one or two questions do you wish I had asked you (and how would you have responded?!)
-
Do you like Ian Holloway?
Ian Newell.
I would like to thank Ian for taking part in this Q&A, and I would also like to wish Plymouth FC and it's supporters a successful outcome in what is a very worrying time for their club.

WBA Interest in Paddy Kenny?

WBA/Paddy Kenny Interest?
- Two separate tabloids make passing references today to a possible WBA/Roy Hodgson interest in QPR Goalie Paddy Kenny. Neither paper says he's the #1 choice. That apparently is West Ham's Robert Green. But The Express writes: QPR’s Paddy Kenny and Tomasz Kuszczak of Manchester United are also on the Baggies’ radar...". Meanwhile The Sun writes QPR's Paddy Kenny is also in the frame.."
- Offering just a glimmer of plausibility to the possibility of a Kenny sale (madness as that would be) is that QPR, just a little strangely - given all their other needs (and non-signings) are apparently on the brink of signing Ipswich's released goalie, Brian Murphy. And do QPR really need three goalies? And of course, QPR's summer (non) transfer activity and reported willingness to sell Adel Taarabt speaks for itself.
- And this, presumably, is how web transfer gossip gets spread: 2 + 2 = 5!

MARK DEVLIN TAKES OVER AT BRENTFORD
Former QPR, Mark Devlin was today appointed the new General Manager of Brentford. He joins Brentford from Notts County, where he was Commercial and Marketing Director. The very best of luck to him.
As most QPR fans will recall, the QPR-supporting Devlin, was CEO of QPR before being axed by Gianni Paladini as part of Paladini's "Boardroom Coup" back in September 2006.
